Well, I take it back about Racon!!

Racon did make PM 555 screwons that look a lot like that. No ID plate whatsoever on most of the Racons I've seen.

H'mm,.. Does WEL stand for Western Electric London? There is some very exotic (to me) WE London gear, which has nothing to do with WE. WE London did use some Western electronics and speakers though.

I'm pretty sure is a rebadged Parmeko driver. The look of the phase plug gives it away. It's exactly the same as that of a single Parmeko unit I once owned (never could find another). Also the Parmeko LS1 dual 15" dual concentic had a smaller compression driver with the same type of phase plug. The VC on the diaphragms tend to be very fragile.

Film Industries Limited were a distributor of equipment for cinemas etc so it's quite feasible that they had products either made for them. I've seen mics with their name on.

I did some Googling re Parmeko and came across these interesting links.

    1950's Parmeko Co-axial 15" BBC speakers - diyAudio

Classic hi-fi components - Page 37 - The Art of Sound Forum

Unfortunately, nothing which identifies the CD in question.
Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.

This is a view of the Parmeko LS1 compression driver without diaphragm. The larger stand alone compression drivers (which are extremely rare) used a similar arrangement
